Why 'Try Before You Buy' ?
Our Try Before You Buy program allows you to try out dresses without having to leave home. Our service lets you try a range of styles and sizes to make sure that what you see online looks just as amazing on you in person.
You may select up to 3 garments to try on in the comfort of your home before any payment is taken from your debit/credit card.
When is my credit/debit card charged?
At check-out we’ll ask for your credit/debit card details only to pre-authorise the amount of your order. Pre-authorisation allows your bank to let us know that there are sufficient funds on your bank account in case you'll decide to buy any of the items you have ordered.
The pre-authorisation is NOT a charge; NO funds will be debited to your account at this point. Your card will be charged ONLY IF you decide to keep any of the garments you have tried on.
It’s like when you book a hotel room. The hotel pre-authorises your credit card but funds are withdrawn only after check-out at the end of your stay.
Why is it different to what I do now (i.e. buy - try - return what I don’t like or doesn’t fit)?
The difference is that you will only pay if you decide to keep any of the garments, therefore in case you decide to return any/all of the garments we’ll cancel the transaction and therefore funds will never leave your bank account. This means that you won’t go through the anxiety of waiting for your money to be returned to your bank account, which may take up to a month.
How much does it cost?
Our Try Before You Buy service is free. Shipping too is free, both ways.
How long does it take for my box to arrive?
We ship/deliver from Mon-Fri (excluding public holidays). On orders placed by 3pm (GMT/BST) Mon-Fri we'll try to ensure next-day delivery. Orders placed on a Friday after 3pm (GMT/BST) will be shipped the next Monday (excluding public holidays).
We strive to give you timely updates on the status of your delivery + you can track your shipment via the code we will email to you so that you can know ahead of time when to expect your Duchess London Box.
Do you ship overseas?
Our Try Before You Buy service is only available in the UK.
How long can I keep my box?
From the moment the garments are delivered to you, you will have 24 hours to try them on and decide if you want to keep or return any of the garments. Before the 24 hours expire, just email us at email@example.com to let us know if you want to return/exchange any of the garments. If we do not hear from you, we’ll consider your order completed and will proceed to charge your credit/debit card.
If you would like to exchange or return all/any of the garments, we’ll arrange a pick-up from your address for the next day.
Any fees or fine print?
Items should be returned unused and with all garment tags still attached.
If the plastic tag attached at the garment is broken we will not refund the garment.
Where provided, belts and any packaging such as instructions, authenticity cards, dust bags, and leather tags should be included with your return.
Our branded boxes are considered to be a part of the product and must be returned with the item(s). This is also to ensure that item(s) arrives back to us in a suitable and undamaged state.
For returns that are damaged or soiled a refund could be refused.
If garments come back with any damage, stains, or signs of wear beyond trying on indoors, fees do indeed apply:
Stains: £75 cleaning fee
Zipper damage: £95 repair fee
Other rips/tears: from £175 repair fee
If garments are damaged/stained beyond repair, we will have to charge you for the full price. We hate to go there, so kindly treat the garments with some TLC and return them on time. Any questions? Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any doubts.
Is the 'Try Before You Buy' service always available?
During promotions, sales, and clearances the 'Try Before You Buy' is not available but we'll still include Free Delivery.
